The Deudraeth Broadband Network and Website are community resources for residents within the Wireless Area Network of north Meirionnydd and south Dwyfor. Anyone can view and use the website, there is also a Client Area and free email service for our customers.

Compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy is a contractual requirement. If you fail to do so, your service may be suspended or terminated.

Customers who engage in abusive behaviour will be notified that their behaviour is unacceptable and may have their accounts suspended or terminated.

If we provide you with a user name and password allocated when your broadband equipment is installed, do not allow other people to use these details to access the network.

You must not, by using the service, possess or transmit illegal material. You should be aware that as the Internet is a global network, some activities/material which may be legal in the UK, may be illegal elsewhere in the world and vice versa. When you visit a website, a copy of the visited pages is stored on your PC in the web browsers' cache files. Storage of illegal material in this way may well be a criminal offence, as well as contravening this Acceptable Use Policy.  If you are in any doubt as to the legality of anything, don't do it and take independent legal advice before proceeding.

Acceptable Use

You must not gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any computer systems for any purpose, including accessing the Internet. As well as being in breach of your contract for the Deudraeth Broadband service, such hacking or attempted hacking is a criminal offence.

You must not run port-scanning software which accesses remote machines or networks.

You must not send data via the Internet which has forged addresses or which is deliberately constructed to adversely affect remote machines.

The service is a community service. In order to ensure that everyone's level of traffic use does not affect other people's enjoyment of the internet, every user will be capped as to how much traffic can be used within a rolling 7 day period. The level of the cap is noted in the 'Product Comparison' page (under 'Prices')on this website. If, in future for any reason the level of the cap is changed, all users will be notified in advance.

You and members of your household/business should use e-mail, discussion forums and chat rooms respectfully to others in the community. Do not send email to any person who does not wish to receive it. If the recipient asks to stop receiving email, you and your household members/colleagues must stop sending email to that person. Harassment through language, frequency or size of communication is prohibited.

You must not participate in the sending of unsolicited bulk email or any other form of email or Internet "abuse". This applies to material which originates on your system as well as third party material which passes through your system.

Some material on the Internet is protected by copyright, trademark or statutes and laws which protect the creator of that material. Transmission, distribution, or storage of other people's information, data, or material is therefore illegal. If you or members of your household are in any doubt about any material you want to transmit via the Deudraeth Broadband service, contact the Deudraeth Broadband Project Director and ask.

Deudraeth Cyf reserves the right to amend this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Amendments will be notified on the Deudraeth Broadband Website.
