| If you have used the World Wide Web/Internet before then you should find the Deudraeth.net site easy to use. We hope you'll like the site and that you'll want to add it to your list of favorite sites. If you haven't got much experience of using web sites let us introduce you to some terms and jargon and give you a few tips:
|
Some Terms and Jargon
- The Internet and World Wide Web are more or less the same thing. People use both terms to mean the millions of computers around the world that are now connected and which anyone can access.
- A 'site' or web site is simply one place to visit on the web. It has a name - ours is www.deudraeth.net
- A browser is simply the program that allows your computer to access the web. The most common browsers are called Internet Explorer and Netscape. If you are using a set top box then the browser is the only program you will need and the box will run it automatically.
It is free to enter www.deudraeth.net but if you visit other sites they may make a charge you a fee. Do not type in your credit card details unless you really want to pay for something. Despite powerful security on most pay-for sites, some people are still reluctant to use their credit card on the internet. You must decide for yourself.
To find the Deudraeth website you can type the address (www.deudraeth.net) into the white address box at the top of the screen.
The first page you come to is the Homepage. This page shows you what is available on the site and how to get to it.
Deudraeth broadband has a wide range of services and information. We have split them into sections so you can easily find what you want by pointing at the word and clicking the left button on your mouse.
If you can't find what you want, you can use the Search Box in the top left hand corner of each screen. Use your mouse to click on the white box, then type in the name or words associated with what you are looking for. Then click on the "Go" button and you'll soon get a page full of matching results. Pick the one you want by pointing and clicking on the word.
- If the page turns out to be different from what you expected, you can go back to your earlier page by clicking on the grey "Back" button (usually in the top left corner of your screen).
- If you want to look at an entirely different part of Deudraeth.net you can use the search, but it is sometimes just as easy to return to the Homepage by clicking on the word "Home" and starting again.
